Your budget seems to be under $200. I would also suggest you look at the the Olympus SP320 and the Canon Powershot A630. These cameras are slightly bigger than the ones you mention but they offer manual controls which will definitely help your photography grow. I think they look cool. They also handle a lot better than the normal digital camera because these have a grip you can hold. These cameras also have great image quality.

Even though your selections are basically non-DSLR selections, you should consider a full sized DSLRl camera which is very affordable as discussed below.
Should you want an all-in-one 6.1 mp digital camera with a 36 to 432 mm “image stabilized” zoom lens, with stereo sound video capability, and you can afford $339, it’s the Canon Powershot S3IS.
Here’s the review of Steves’ Digicam:

You can find excellent detailed reviews at If your wanting to spend around $200 maybe check this one out: Canon PowerShot A630 Canon can usually produce great pictures of image quality and color and most of them provide full manual controls, so if you are just starting at it would be a great camera because you can expand with it, and experiment using different shutter speeds, aparture, iso and so on. My first camera was a digital canon camera like this and it was great! I learned so much from it and some of my best photos, are from this camera. If it’s too much, check out the buyers guide on the site or search by camera by price. I almost guarantee that you will find the reviews extremely useful, they are very detailed and go through a test of shots to show you the quality of the camera as will as all the controls on the camera. I urge you to check out the website and one of the canon cameras if not this one. Here is a review from their website:
